Court orders insurance company to pay QR1m to Asian woman whose daughter died in an accident
Qatar’s Court of First Instance has ordered an insurance company to pay a sum of QR1m to an Asian woman as compensation for the death of her only daughter in a road traffic accident, reported Gulf Times.
The victim was run over by a vehicle insured by the defendant company with a third party compulsory policy. Investigators blamed rash driving by the motorist, who also lost his life, as the cause of the accident.
The case was referred to the Criminal Court by the Public Prosecution, but the court dismissed the case due to the death of the motorist.
The mother of the woman who was killed in the accident filed a case against the insurance company concerned demanding a compensation of QR2m for the loss of her only daughter.
Eventually, the court found that the insurance company has to compensate the woman for such a big loss as it involved irreparable emotional anguish as well.
That's right.
