Driver in police custody after ramming into Rolls Royce at Sheraton Doha
A rogue driver in a white Mercedes Benz that rammed into a parked Rolls Royce at the Sheraton Doha yesterday was escorted off the hotel premises and taken into police custody, hotel officials said.
The video footage of the incident went viral on social media Sunday evening. It is still unclear why the driver behaved recklessly or whether he was intoxicated.
The vehicle went around the driveway destroying a valet counter outside the main entrance and then drove straight into a dark blue Rolls Royce that was parked just outside the entrance.
Hotel staff and security personnel were forced to dodge the vehicle and move out of the way several times.

In a full version of the footage, the driver is then taken out of vehicle and forced into a room by hotel security personnel. The driver was laughing while he was being escorted.
Doha News reports that according to the Ministry of Interior's traffic violations service, the Mercedes has incurred three penalties this week, all on Thursday, Nov. 26 – two in Onaiza and one in Al Khor.
The hotel issued a statement, which said no guests of staff members were injured in the incident and the driver was escorted by the police and the matter is with the local authorities.
"We can confirm that a driving incident occurred on the premises of the Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel on Sunday morning, November 29. Fortunately no associates or guests were injured. An individual involved in the incident had to be escorted by the police. The matter is now in the hands of the local authorities who we fully assist in their investigations."

Wonder what caused him to snap. Perhaps he had a beef against the hotel.
