Emiri Diwan confirms National Sport Day, on Tuesday, to be an official holiday
Qatar is one of the only countries in the world to celebrate a National Sports Day, underlining the importance the nation gives to health and fitness.
The Emiri Diwan has underlined the day’s importance by declaring a national holiday on February 13, the second Tuesday of February, reported Gulf Times.
“The Emiri Diwan announced that Jumada 1 27, 1439AH corresponding to February 13, 2018, will be an official holiday to mark Qatar Sport Day. The day is marked annually on the second Tuesday of February,” read the statement in the daily.
Meanwhile, Vodafone has been chosen as the Platinum Sponsors for Qatar Foundation’s National Sport Day event, according to Qatar Tribune.
Vodafone will engage the public with exciting interactive and augmented reality activities, including 2D ball juggling, football scoring speed shot, paddling race track and much more.
Vodafone will be present in Qatar Foundation’s Ceremonial Court from 8am to 5pm.
