Expat gets three months in jail for stealing clothes
A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced an expatriate to three months in jail for trying to steal clothes from a shop.
Footage from surveillance cameras at a local shopping mall showed that the man took six shirts and a pair of trousers from a shop and hid them inside a plastic bag before trying to leave without paying.
During the investigation, the defendant admitted to the wrongdoing. The court has also ordered his deportation after serving the jail sentence, reports Gulf Times.
Authorities in Qatar are very strict when it comes to dealing with cases like these.
Recently, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested a man for stealing gold and diamond jewellery and watches worth QAR5m from the residence of a citizen in Doha.
The criminal court is still reviewing the case.

"Authorities in Qatar are very strict when it comes to dealing with cases like these." Yeah, but they are not very strict in other cases when ambassadors of Qatar to Belgium are involved!
brit, "The court has also ordered his deportation after serving the jail sentence."
Omar / BE - We must look at why he took these clothes ... Perhaps his inlaws were asking him for loans or the laundry had damaged his shirts - we cannot judge
We need sharia laws in Qatar. It's getting worse every day!!
Will he be deported after serving his sentence ?
