Houses in the Old Abu Hamour area facing demolition
It is common sense that as time moves on, the old have to make way for the new. Within a few months, houses in the old Abu Hamour area will start making way for the new.
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has issued a decision to demolish old houses in the area near Qatar Independent Technical School. All residents from the area will be relocated to another site, Qatar Tribune reported.
The State Properties Department has said that houses in this area are very old and that the area didn't keep pace with redevelopment.
Residents have been asked to submit housing papers in the ministry's tower on the sixth floor on Mondays and Thursdays of every week for starting the removal process.
Residents are required to bring copies of the identity cards of owner and tenant, a copy of the lease agreement, detailed testimony from the employer explaining the housing allowance with utility receipts, property number and street, a copy of the marriage certificate, and phone number.
The State Properties Department has offered all help to relocate tenants to decent accommodations.
