Indian Embassy waives QR60 fee for Qatar’s amnesty plan
The Qatar government’s amnesty scheme for people without proper documentation has been a huge hit. Several Asian embassies offered their unconditional support and hundreds of people have already made use of it.
In order to encourage more people to make use of the amnesty plan, the Indian Embassy in Qatar has decided to waive the QR60 fee it had been charging Indian expatriates for services related to it.
“Not many Indians have come forward to utilise the Qatar amnesty plan and a campaign to spread more awareness within the community will be launched in this regard in association with Indian Cultural Centre and other socio-cultural organisations,” India’s Ambassador to Qatar P Kumaran told Qatar Tribune.
The fee waiver is expected to encourage more people to make use of the sercives.
