For many, Aladdin’s Kingdom is a beautiful memory that will never come back!
One thing we understood when we did a video post about Aladdin’s Kingdom a few days back is that the romance/nostalgia surrounding the park is yet to die.
It was one of our most popular posts on Facebook ever and it got a whopping 185 comments. So what was it that made Aladdin’s Kingdom, which shut shop at the end of the last decade, such a huge draw?
Many people reminisced their school days, when an outdoor picnic often meant a visit to Aladdin’s Kingdom.
“From our school, every year we were taken to Aladdin's Kingdom. So much of fun, screaming, hanging around, adventure, eating.... those memories will never fade,” said Jish EV, on our post in Facebook.
For some, visiting the park was the ‘to do’ thing if they were new in the country.
“We used to love going there! My son was just 3 years old when we came to Qatar and we would plan outings with friends to Aladdin's Kingdom. Should have let it be,” said Neeraja Sigatapu.
Megan Aprille, meanwhile, had a different memory of the place to share.
“I do have one incredible memory with Aladdin's Kingdom before it went out of business. There was a concert held there with Filipino musicians and I remember the crowd, a mix of Arabs, Asians, and Filipinos. They were enjoying the music and having fun. It was an incredible night,” she said.
Yusuf Shamim, whop used to live in Mesaieed, fondly recollected his trips to the place.
“Yes, it’s unforgettable and still in my memories as this was the place where me and my friends from Mesaieed used to visit and spend fun time.... Sad that it's been 8 years it closed its door... Wish it to be open again with a new look,” he said.
Sameera Saharban, who contemplated on the reasons for the park’s closure, came up with a plausible explanation.
“The sad reality is Aladdin's Kingdom was never marketed well. It looked like a mysterious place and was less talked about. People who have been there once sincerely wished it be there still,” she said.
Awais Akram Sheikh was one very sad man.
“So this post was just to sadden us more. I was expecting that some new Aladdin's Kingdom has opened in Doha,” he lamented.
We too wish so, buddy, we too!

Did it have something to do with Genie ?
where's my comment?
So many good times.. Neighbors would go there for a picnic and we would get free food from them - joys
It doesn't mean we can't have a place like this again. Dubai just got a Legoland.
