The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has intensified inspection campaigns at shops selling Garangao kits across the country.
The MEC carried out surprise raids at 546 outlets selling nuts and sweets and detected 11 violations.
The violations included charging higher than the marked price, displaying expired products and absence of information labels in Arabic on the items on display.
Violators were issued a violation report each, which could entail them a fine ranging from QR3,000 and up to QR1 million.

11 out of 546 is just over 2%. I would say the MEC is doing an excellent job thus far but agree that the violators should be named to warn the public.
Good move .... I do think though that violators should be named ... in order for the public to be forewarned
I think this is just the tip of an iceberg. Doha is full of disgusting shops and I am sure half of them are violating the laws of hygiene and food storage.
