MOI to provide 24X7 security to ensure a safe holiday for residents
There will be no let-up in security during the Eid Al Fitr holidays with the security and service departments of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) working around the clock.
The ministry is working on a strategic plan, in line with the Qatar Vision 2030, to provide security to citizens and residents at all the times, including on special occasions like Eid Al Fitr.
The MoI security departments keep working at all times and respond quickly to complaints from citizens and residents. Members of the security departments take days off on rotation basis to ensure comfort, security and safety of people.
Director of Capital Security Department Brigadier Nasser Jaber al Nuaimi said all sections of the Department, including Capital Police Station, Madinat Khalifa Police Station, Al Sadd Police Station and Mesaimeer Police Station, are working round the clock to ensure all services are available at these four stations.
Director of Dukhan Security Department Brigadier Abdul Hadi Dhafir Al Ahbab, said, "We’ve taken all steps to provide security services on roads and residential neighborhoods."
He said work on receiving of complaints and other procedures will remain unchanged during the holidays and patrols will be working round the clock to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Director of Al Rayan Security Department Brig. Mohammed Saif Al Nuaimi advised the residents of Industrial area to be cautious while crossing streets.
Director of North Security Department Brig Mohammed Abdullah al Shahwani said the department has made all arrangements to provide security to citizens and residents during Eid holidays.
The MoI Service departments are also working around the clock to complete the public transactions without any delay, although all MoI services have become electronic through Metrash2 service.
Major Jaber Mohamed Odaiba, assistant director of Media and Traffic Awareness Section of Traffic Department, said the Traffic Department would tighten traffic patrols across the country to ensure smooth flow of traffic and prevent accidents. He urged drivers to be especially cautious while crossing internal streets in residential areas.
The Central Operations Department is working throughout through its 999 and 992 numbers.
Marine patrols of the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security are also working 24X7 to provide necessary assistance to sea-goers, fishermen and hikers.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence will also be working 24X7 to respond to any emergency.
The Rescue Police (Al Fazaa), the Airport Passports Department and Abu Samra Port will also be working throughout during the Eid holidays.
