Motorist fined for ignoring the red signal
A Doha criminal court has fined a motorist QR10,000 and suspended his driving licence for a month for jumping the red signal and colliding with another vehicle.
According to Gulf Times, the local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that the defendant also caused the other car to crash into a light column, which left the three occupants of the vehicle with severe injuries.
The traffic report about the accident had proven that due to the negligence of the motorist, he did not notice the red light and continued to drive on, which caused the accident.
Since recent times, Qatar has been not very lenient with its traffic laws. Penalties and fines for breaking the traffic rules and regulations have been raised and made severe.
In fact, making use of parking slots assigned for the handicapped drivers and overtaking from the right have now become violations that could give you a fine of QR 1,000.
While one of our news posts titled, “New traffic law to take effect from Thursday” would give a vivid picture on the strict new penalties for violating traffic laws, it goes without saying that everyone should practice caution while driving.

GREAT NEWS
Great work!
wt: Why must you pretend like you landed here yesterday? Do you really not know who pays the victims compensation? I'm all for a healthy bit of cynicism but you seem to be redefining the very word...
How much will the "severely injured" get? Or is it free to injure people in Qatar?
This is great news.... More of the same please
