Municipality raids Souq Al-Haraj and Industrial Area
The General Control Section at the Department of Municipal Control of Doha Municipality continued its surveillance campaigns designed to limit the street vendors phenomenon.
A raid was carried out this morning at “Al-Haraj” market in Najma zone and another raid in the evening at the Industrial Area's Street No. 47.
The raids were carried out in coordination with the “Al-Fazaa” Police Department of the Ministry of Interior and the Public Hygiene Project of the Ministry of Municipality & Urban Planning.
During the two raids, several street vendors were apprehended and significant quantities of goods and foodstuffs of unknown origin had been confiscated and destroyed.
The goods were displayed for sale away from the Food Control observers in unhygienic conditions.
