No obstacles at political level to resolve Gulf crisis, says Qatar’s Foreign Minister
There were no obstacles to resolve the Gulf crisis at the political level, His Excellency Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani highlighted yesterday.
Qatar does not dwell on small issues, he added.
HE the Qatari Foreign Minister said this during a joint press conference with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
There was a breakthrough in the GCC crisis that took place two weeks ago following the Kuwaiti statement on the issue, HE Sheikh Mohammed mentioned.
However, there have been ongoing talks to reach an agreement on the framework to accomplish the reconciliation, he pointed out.

The talks were centered on respecting the sovereignty of countries and emphasized that no country can impose its conditions on another.
These reconciliation talks happened with Saudi Arabia only, but the country was representing other parties as well, HE the Minister mentioned.
He reiterated Qatar’s stance on resolving the crisis and through direct and constructive dialogue and reaffirmed Qatar’s firm position to maintain the unity of the GCC.
The same day, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister and acting Minister of Information Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al Sabah said in a statement that fruitful discussions had taken place to reach a final agreement and resolution of the Gulf crisis.
The Kuwaiti Minister had affirmed that all the parties involved in the discussions expressed their concern for regional stability aimed at achieving the best for the peoples of the GCC and the countries.
