The Qatar team, in outstanding form, kept a clean sheet for the fifth game in a row to beat South Korea 1-0 in a thrilling tie. Abdulaziz Hatem scored the game’s only goal in the 78th minute.

Qatar, who have competed at the Asian Championships on nine occasions, had reached the quarterfinals stage thrice — 2000, 2011 and ’19.
