Qatar’s Crime Investigation Department arrests man for committing credit card fraud
Qatar’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested a person of Asian nationality as he tried to make purchases with forged credit cards from some shops in the country, the Ministry of Interior was quoted as saying by Gulf Times.
The accused was arrested while attempting to purchase items using the forged cards.
At the time of arrest, officials also recovered numerous counterfeit credit cards, a bank card programming device and a laptop computer containing stolen card data, according to The Peninsula.
Many high-end smartphones were also confiscated from the accused.
The arrest was made after the CID received a tip-off about the accused. During interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime and he has been referred to the concerned for further action, reported Qatar Tribune.
