The registrations for the 23rd Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani Holy Qur’an contest will begin on Tuesday and go on until the 15th of October, which is a Thursday.

This contest is organized by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and is open to all citizens and expatriates who are residents of the country. Both males and females can take part in it.

The participants will have to bring along a copy of their Qatari ID/passport along with a recent photograph (for males only).

The registration can be done from 8AM-12PM and 4PM-8PM at the Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Hall in Freej Kleeb.

The contestants will have to memorize one of the last 5 parts of the Holy Qur’an.

The organizing committee of the contest has said that the sign up process for the competition can be completed in the presence of the competitor or their representatives.

Also, the committee has further said that the contestants who took part in the previous competition can sign up through telephone.

Once the signing up process is done, the contestants will receive a text message confirming their registration process and it will also give a reference number, the memorization category and other details.

The winners will be awarded with cash prizes. The first place will be given QR 100,000 while the second, third, fourth and fifth places will be awarded with QR 85,000, QR 70,000, QR 60,000, QR 50,000 respectively.

Learning Quran is the most easy thing in Qatar Alhamdulillah. You can approch any imam or muazzin at you local masjid and ask them. Either you can opt to go for the Quran classess (tahfiz) which are located in almost every area or ask for their personal time for the same. I personally learnt from the local muazzin in my locality alhamdulillah! You can also approch Fanar for the same.

Its not for Muslims alone, even Non-Muslims are welcome.
