Seven food outlets have been shut down for flouting norms
Qatar has always been known as a country that takes a no-nonsense approach towards people who flout rules, especially if they run hotels.
Almost every other day, one hears about hotels that have been shut down for preparing food in unhygienic conditions.
The other day was no different as Doha Municipality inspectors closed down seven food outlets for violating the law.
Two restaurants were closed for selling expired food and preparing food in unhealthy conditions, reported The Peninsula.
While one hotel was shuttered for 30 days in Al Refaa, the other got a 15-day closure notice in Rawdat Al Khail.
The inspectors also partially closed five restaurants located in Al Salatah, Onaiza, Msheireb, Al Ghanim Al Atiq, and Al Rifaa. The temporary closure varied between 10 to 30 days.
The reasons for closure was serving food unfit for human consumption, expired food, and preparing food in unhealthy conditions.
We welcome the decision of the officials ................
