Tickets for the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 go on sale
The 2019 IAAF Athletics World Championships may still be almost a year away, but tickets for the mega event — which Doha will host to become the first Middle Eastern city to do so — has gone on sale.
The ticket sales for the 17th Athletics Worlds (September 27 - October 6, 2019) was jointly launched by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 and the IAAF yesterday, reported The Peninsula.

LOC Director General Dahlan Al Hamad and IAAF President Sebastian Coe announced the details of the event.
Track and field fans from around the globe can reserve tickets for the showpiece event through the official championships website — tickets.iaafworldathleticschamps.com.
Athletics fans can choose to follow their champions, sit in traditional Arab cushioned Majlis seating or select finish line seats. For people who are new to track and field, affordable taster options tickets have been made available.

Family and group discounts are also on offer for those looking to attend in large groups.
While open seating tickets are priced at QR60, the first option of ‘Follow Your Champion’ costs QR150. The second option in the same category are priced at QR120. Finish line seats have been priced at QR300 each.

If it is a family of two adults and two kids, children aged between 2 and 12 years olf will get a 25% discount.
While group tickets between 10 and 49 people will get a 15% discount, 50 tickets and above will get an 18% discount, reported Qatar Tribune.
Attractive travel packages for international fans are also expected to be announced in the coming months.

The world championships in Doha will be quite unique as it will host the first-ever midnight marathon and a first-of-its-kind 4x400M mixed relay in an IAAF Worlds. In addition to that, all competitions will be evening sessions for the first time.
