UAE residents will enjoy a long weekend this week.

According to state news agency WAM, the UAE Cabinet has approved November 3 as an Islamic New Year holiday for both public and private sectors.

Work will resume on Monday, November 4.

Islamic New Year marks the first day of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar.
