Woqod plans to open even more mobile petrol stations around Qatar
One of the constant gripes of car owners in Qatar is the long, serpentine queues that are visible outside almost all major petrol stations in the country. The closure of several privately owned fuel stations has added to the woes.
However, things have been slowly getting back to normalcy thanks to several mobile petrol stations that were opened around the country. There are further reasons for cheer as Woqod is planning to open more mobile outlets soon.
Priority will be given to areas that have huge demand for petrol, but not enough fuel stations.
Nine stations are in the final stages of getting required permits in Al Aqla (Lusail), Auqda (Al Khor) Abo Nahkla (Salwa Road), Aba Sulil (Southern Road), Hamad International Airport and Um Guilina. The work is in progress in further stations including New Salata, Thumama, Jabal Thulieb (Lusail), all due to open upon receiving the final permits in 2017, reported Gulf Times.
The mobile petrol stations have been big hits and helped reduce pressure on other stations. In 2016, Woqod launched 19 stations (including mobile petrol stations) across Qatar. The total number of Woqod service stations across Qatar is now 56.
