Travel to all GCC countries in railway by 2030
The ambitious GCC Railways Project, a state-of-the-art network connecting Gulf Countries, is on track for completion by 2030, announced Qatar's Minister of Transport, H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, during the 26th Meeting Committee of the Ministers of Transport of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in Qatar.
In his opening remarks, Minister Al Sulaiti highlighted the transportation sector's vital role in driving the region. He emphasized the project's potential to enhance trade, logistics, and sustainable growth while connecting economic hubs to global markets.
"The GCC Railways project is a cornerstone of our collective vision," said Al Sulaiti. "This initiative will not only streamline trade and logistics between our nations but will also connect economic and industrial zones to key ports, enhancing their global economic role and strengthening trade ties with Asia and Europe.”
In addition to the railway initiative, the minister praised the development of wold-class GCC ports, recognized among the most efficient globally, and the region's commitment to sustainable, eco-friendly transportation solutions.
The meeting also addressed key updates, including the GCC Railways Authority's progress, regulations on land transportation, and maritime standards, encouraging the unified effort to reshape connectivity in the gulf.
