CAN I GET NOC FROM GOVERNMENT COMPANY TO JOIN PRIVATE COMPANIES

I am presently in a government job working as an engineer, and I have been in this position for just 2.5 years. I am not really enjoying the working environment anymore because of some reasons.

I am getting invites/offers from international consultant companies and the pay is even more. Now I am a bit afraid, will I be getting NOC from my present company? Will I not be terminated and sent back to home country? Does it not look embarrassing to leave govt. jobs for private? Can I take jobs with another government company? Anyone with same experience should please share. Thanks

Correct, an e-mail is considered an authentic document.

Yes I switched from the government to the private. What Wild Turkey said is true though. Your line manager will tell you upfront whether he will give you the NOC. Normally there is no reason he would say no unless it is a requirement from the CEO. If he says yes send him an email straight away and request a confirmation. The email should be fine and there is no need for a written statement.

@Molten metal, it's not just about the temptations for higher salary, it's more. ''looking for long term benefits''?? Hope you're not referring to gratuity?Otherwise, I am still searching everywhere looking for the said long-term benefits. . Any other insights?

@Wild Turkey, Asking the present company if or not they would issue NOC is like a child asking if his father would smack him if he offends the father. The response one gets will be very unreliable and subject to time discretion. No company will openly/officially not to give NOC, but when the need to do so arises, it's another scenario.

Don't listen to those ignorant people who tell you stick to your job and there is no NOC with the government. The NOC depends only on your line manager. Speak to him and if he says yes you can go ahead. I was in the government myself and my company was more than happy to give me the NOC (manager signed it off, CEO approved it same week, HR department helped me with all the sponsorship transfer processes)

NOC depends on the organization you are working in, even in govts. In my organization (govt.), its a case by case thing. And its not as strict as before especially with all the media attention labour laws in Qatar is atttracting..

Dear

I am too working in the Government Sector here in Qatar (MOI) so I am confident enough that NOC is a dream which will never come true.

Secondly if there is no job satisfaction then you should move on but not within Qatar. Instead I suggest you try in other GCC countries like UAE but make sure you clear all formalities in Qatar for exit. Please don't leave behind any pending loans, post paid services, etc.

NOC from Qatar is not a concern if you want to work in other GCC countries.
