Looking for a Job in Qatar

Can someone help.

I'm an IT Professional with over 8 years experience and wanted to know the following :-

1) Is there still demand for UK IT professionals especially with the cheaper Indians now being recruited ?

2) How does one go about finding a job in Qatar ? Are there any job boards or should I just fly over and knock door to door.

3) How much money should I expect - I'm a specialist in web applications and have worked for large multinational organisations in the UK. In particular I have experience managing the IT systems supporting global marketing operations ?

I am really having a hard time finding anything - even getting an interview seems like a struggle - I apply online constantly but simply don't get a response. Is there anything else that I should be doing - how hard can it be - I've got tons of experience in a Western market which can cross over to help develop a middle east company.

Natalie,

They WERE employing people from everywhere. They don't anymore. The contracts will all end in December so there is no point for them to bring people over anymore. They can pretty much find whoever else they need at the moment in Qatar.
