Really carminaburana if everyone knew the circumstances in which you resigned and the amount if trouble you caused at NBS they would know to take your comments with a pinch of salt.

well its completely true about NBS - they have an enormous turnover of staff - because the Admin and so called 'leaders' are incompetent. The Head last year stole money - she was not only a thief but a liar too and an extremely unpleasant, false individual. The sports teacher has his profile all over the internet...just type in his name and up comes his notorious, sickening profile.....parents check for yourselves. Since the school opened, it has replaced its Head every year.

Thank you to flor1212, worxpace, catweasel and others for taking the time to reply, this does help me. Your comments confirm what I thought - that every work place, a school or otherwise, has good and bad things about it.

Well, this is all turning out to be a rather personal debate, I'm off on holiday to enjoy the sunshine for a few days to think about ... things. Thanks?

All I can say is that I stand by my comments above, and anyone can do a QL search and find the same. Newton ranks MUCH lower than the schools I listed. May parentally complain about the school's profit motive which affects that staff, relations with parents and creates a high turnover of students and teachers. Maybe the school is cleaning up its act. Good. And there are certainly worse schools out there.

No personal offense intended by my comments and sorry to have ruffled miss teacher's feathers. No need for her to launch personal attacks here. I'm just responding to the OP.

I'm sure your perfect teacher. Just hope no parent or student ever disagrees with you. Then you call them names, call them liars and make personal insults. Like I said, crazy crazy crazy. Paranoid crazy.

you edited your comment Mikeoxbig so don't give me it. I defend my school and for the sake of parents who send their children there.

You can say what you want....but I wont stand for people unjustly bashing a good school and me for that matter.

"take note QL, the post above is what you can expect at NBS. if you ever have a problem with your child's education or criticism of the school, that is how they will respond."

I am not management so I can't respond. No problems so far with any child I have taught!!!

do you even read my posts? I'm sayin people diss NBS because what they really want is a mostly white school for their little expat darlings, and NBS is not that. has nothin to do with quality of teaching.

but after reading your paranoid rant I'm startin to agree with the people on QL who bash the school for quality of teaching and administration. you clearly work for the school and are responding to criticisms with rants, paranoia and personal attacks. and now your bashing me.

take note QL, the post above is what you can expect at NBS. if you ever have a problem with your child's education or criticism of the school, that is how they will respond.

Some due doesn't like your school (obvious that you are an employee there) and so you trash and say he's out to get you?!? WTF? Lots people on QL trash NBS. Just do a search doll. Are they all out to get you?

My point is that some people trash these school cause they aren't mostly white. Take a quick look at NBS and its obvious.

You don't have a clue and you are clearly racist @ MikeOxbig!! as you disappointingly state... "My point is that some people trash these school cause they are mostly white."

Disgraceful comment.

Also FYI, It's not on the Newton forum I'm talking about 2020 having a very obvious problem with me, so kindly know what you are talking about before getting involved.

Yeah lots of people go on hearsay about Newton Schools and usually from hearsay, not experience. People have different experiences, I understand that and they don't agree with me but there is a LOT of evidence to back up that the Newton schools are highly accredited.

Newton schools are continually growing hence there are now 4 schools been opened. All the schools have well qualified teachers and are continually improving :) Great experience working over here in Doha and a very rewarding job!

FYI...2020 has something against me for some reason on QL and this is probably the reason for his negative comments against the Newton schools.

I get the feelin' that some people on here are rating schools according to how many expats (read white) go there. More expats at a British school then it must better. So what if Newton has all of about four white Brit kids, still good be a good school.

Cannot comment on the working conditions but the school has a poor reputation compared to the other British/international curriculum schools. Much better to seek a position at Doha College, DESS, Compass, Sherbourne if you have good British qualifications. In reputation at least, teachers at Newton have a reputation of being at a low standard.

Keep your options open and apply to other schools as they may have better packages. I have heard good and bad things about Newton from fellow teachers. Sometimes it depends on the individual (what you can take) I spent 7 years at a similar school to Newton mainly because I like Qatar and have great friends here. The school (a different one) I am at now also has issues but the package is no comparison and makes the 'politics' (which you find everywhere) a little easier to deal with.

:)hope this helps.

We're generally happy with the standard of education and care he receives. There has been a reasonably high turnover of staff, I think the headmistress has changed twice, but my son's teacher is top notch and our experience has been mostly positive.

my honest feeling upon shaking hands with them. And they are very concern about their teachers.
