Part Time work
Hi everyone,
Please could anyone advise. Me and my wife are moving to Qatar from the U.K as i have accepted a job offer. My wife will be looking for work when we both arrive and has experience in retail and banking.
What are the employment opportunities in these two areas?
How easy is it to find work and in particular part time work?
She is very keen to work and we were wondering what her chances were of being able to secure a position for herself and how would she go about applying and where would she look? websites etc.
Retail is her preference and in particular fashion retailers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Kind Regards
Hi everyone,
Thanks for your responses and advice. I think we'll probably wait till we are settled in Qatar and then take that time as an opportunity to find something for my wife.
Judging by the feedback am i correct in assuming that part time work is vary rare in Qatar? As my wife only wanted to work perhaps 3 or 4 days a week rather than 5 days a week.
Is it very difficult to find part time work? As in the U.K part time work, particularly in fashion retailers in shopping malls is very common and i would have thought Qatar would be the same?
If not, she would work full time but would much prefer a part time position.
Thanks again for your advice and help everyone.
Hey. Im gonna live and work in Qatar after few months. So, you want to tell me that its illegal to work additional work there - for hours, or part-time..
So, I will receive only my salary? Its not possible any others opportunities for extra income money?
part time work is illegal in Qatar...she need a full employment status and work visa.
try hard
warm welcome to qatar, once you settled here, its upto u to decide which opportunity to apply. anyway, dont worry, as qatar is a well secured place for women to work.
Jobs in Retail will not be an issue but part time job will not be that easy.
Come here and get him thru family visa status and she will surely have a very good chance of getting good job.
Hi. Congratulations in advance. Try settling down here first. Finish the visa requirements. There are lots of opportunities awaiting for your wife here. The place is booming. Hotels and malls are being constructed left and right. Once you have settled down, more or less she will have an idea on which top companies to apply for (walk in). Good Luck.
