Quality or Quantity?

I maybe getting myself into hot water here, but anyway I wanted everyone's view on the following;

Do the Qatari's and expats prefer quantity over quality in regards to labour/man power? This includes companies that are hiring here.

My feeling feeling is quantity and my reasons are as follows;

Flat maintenance -

Always come in pairs and don't have a clue what needs to be done.

Quality of work is poor

They don't clean up after themselves

Shopping -

You ask for an item and them make you wait for a while before someone comes to assist, only to tell you they don't have clue what you are asking for or for example, I asked for a pasta drainer at LULU's and the chap showed me a rice drainer. His remarks where same same. lol

No such thing as customer services

Driving -

Now I've read lots of forum posts here that Qatari's drive bad, but its not just them!!! I've seen Philippine's, Asians and Westerners drive just as bad if not worse.

And what is with the people who stare. There are times when I've been walking around with my Mrs they stare to the point I've been quite confrontational.

I have lots more, but I'm stopping here. I really can't see how this state will progress by hiring by the masses without having adequate quality personnel, and personnel with people skills...

That's my rant for the day :)

Quote "Qataris don't need to stare at other women as their own are more beautiful".

Are you a lesbian? Do you fantasize about women? Ask men for their opinion.

There is and are beautiful things everywhere in the world. Even beautiful women. Now there are beautiful Qatari women but to claim that their own women are more beautiful is far stretched. Yes, I agree I haven't seen Qatari men stare, but the laborers, well it ain't easy working with men all day. Ask them why they stare.

this isn't about the locals this is about expat workers......customer service doesn't exist because no one has pride in their work, after all they just work for a salary every month.They couldn't care if you never went back to a shop...... they just work there!!

Qataris don't tend to stare.....labourers do that!!!Qataris don't need to stare at other woman as their own are more beautiful!!!

very interesting in particular. This kind of incident makes you reflects on everything that happens in your life. You tend to ask what if it was your love one who perished in that incident? Or what if you are at that place when the incident happened? Too many things going inside your head and yet answers are not clear as you thought it to be.

I came here in June 2007 and honestly speaking, maybe I have visited Villagio not more than 10 times as I am living here near TV R/A.

I am not into negativism, many times I played the villain to many here because I have my own view and since many here are considered Westernized views and my personal conviction is also different from many, the conflict of opinion is always there.

Flor1212 It is like you keep on getting stupider.

To the op, I agree with you. However, you are barking at the wrong tree pal. You see, 95 % of people who argue on forums on QL are losers who just like to gossip. See the Villagio story, suddenly EVERYONE now is an expert in fires and Malls!

Flor1212, you want to convince me that you don't wear your shirt a few times a week until it smells like seafood and rice cakes?

If you buy quality, you'll buy 1 expensive t-shirt (quality means expensive). Same amount, you buy 10 t-shirts (quantity). Now, would you wear 1 shirt for ten days or would you like to wear 10 different shirts for ten days?

Lol!

Wait... just a little more......... you will see the light !

With the unemployment going high & banks / business going down / Govt benefits cuts / Europeans will be standing at the roundabouts with their tool boxes & smoking while waiting for a few hours of labour in Asian towns........!!!

That time 'I' will wish if some one see 'Me' first & give 'Any' work ???

Pride hath a fall ...
