Safer Internet Day 2010
Safer Internet Day 2010 is an important call to action for everyone to keep children safe on the internet, while still allowing them to enjoy its boundless benefits.
Safer Internet Day 2010 is organized by Insafe each year in February to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world. The topic for 2010's day - held on February 9th, 2010 - is "Think B4 U post!". (Go to the event website at: http://www.saferinternet.org/web/guest/safer-internet-day)
"Think B4 U post!" is an important reminder to children and parents alike that information you share on the internet or your mobile phone becomes public. This can lead to people knowing far more about you than you would like, unwarranted gossip or cyber bullying.
ictQATAR is committed to keeping children safe online and is currently developing a website dedicated to online safety. The site will include useful information for children, teens, parents and educators, as well as fun interactive games and videos.
Join ictQATAR in protecting children online by learning more about what you can do to protect your children at home.

It's nice to think that ictQATAR is "committed to keeping children safe online". Sometimes I wonder if parents are, when they leave their children for hours on end to surf the net with no supervision.
It seems like such a waste of ictQATAR's resources to have to tell parents such obvious information. I can't believe parents need to be told this stuff, but sadly they do.
some grown ups are so addicted that they do not realize they could be jeopardizing themselves and theirs close ones by posting so much details.
Hope this message gets to them too.
Regards!!
thnx for the info;
Kids need it, some are too addicted to social sites and dont realize the consequences.
