SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened higher on Monday (Aug 14), with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 3,302.78 in an early exchange, up 0.7 for every penny, or 23.06 focuses.

Around 139.7 million offers traded hands.

Gainers beat washouts 120 to 59.
