My wife is a licensed Speech language Pathologist. What procedures must be accomplish before you can begin working in her field? Also, what is the average salary does a SLP earn?
I am not sure about the procedures bet they are quite in demand here, in hospitals and clinics especially if they speak English. I do know of a speech therapist, who is/was working in alshefa polyclinic part time, but works for a school during the daytime, and was called parttime to another smaller rehabilitation schools for speech therapy.
There is a long waiting period in hamad, to get the sessions started with a speech therapist, so if a problem is urgent we need to look elsewhere, like in private clinics, which is a bit expensive, but worth the price. Better to try HMC, RUMAILAH and check the recruitment process..
Sorry cant help further, but I do wish your wife best of luck because I am sure there are many many parents out here who seek speech therapy.
I had received a contact of a teacher who was conducting private classes at home and was charging 150 qar per hour, this was 3 years ago. She had made a setup at home to conduct these classes, so just maybe there may not be quite stringent requirements to get started.
