Teaching in Doha Qatar

My wife and I are very interested in moving to Doha for a couple of years to teach. We will both receive our Master's degree's in August. Hers in Secondary education and mine is a general MBA. My experience is in business. I have been self-employed for 4 years. She has 5 years experience with kids. She has been a nanny for two families with great success. We currently live in the United States and want to move out there as early as August. We would like information on good schools to teach at in the Doha area and why they are good schools. Does anyone have any feedback on Hayat Universal Bilingual School in Doha (HUBS)? Thank you in advance for your time.

Hayat School from Kuwait is a good school in Kuwait and now wants to open in Doha.

Call them and submit CV

I am not associated with them but I am thinking to send my children there

It's good to have good American-born teachers here in Qatar. Too many unqualified teachers in Qatar.

I think you'd be better off checking out which schools are hiring for August still.

Besides, you are not a qualified teacher by the sounds of it.Or are you? So rather than trying to pick which school you would like to work at, you need to look into whether THEY would want to hire YOU.

Sorry if that sounds harsh- and I might be wrong- there may be schools which will hire you for your Masters but it's late in the year (for UK teachers anyway.. not sure about USA contract deadlines etc.)

There is an American School here in Doha. You may want to have a look at that.

Good luck.

My thoughts are my own, but I doubt my Mum would agree with some of them.

I have read many threads, from many sites. There does not seem to be a thread that gives an exact answer to my question. I am interested in what peoples opinions are on the best schools to teach at for young (age 24) teachers that are just moving to Qatar and why you think that it is the best school to teach at.

Thanks again for your time.

If you go to the SEARCH bottom (top right hand side) and type in your topic of interest, you will see many previous posts about the subject.

If you scroll down, on the lower right, you will see GUIDE TO QATAR, under that heading, you will see the Qatar school data base.

Perhaps, after reading, you can ask a more specific question and get some answers.

Good luck :)
