TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT OFFER

ENG
By ENG

I was offered a Temporary Letter of Employment in December 2005 by QP representative, and since then I have been waiting for the confirmation.I have sent couples of e-mail to the said representative without any reply.

I would like to know if that is normal from employer in GCC.

And also what can one do in this situation, because since I got that Temporary offer,I have fallen in love with Qatar and from what I read on this website, I think,Qatar is a nice place to raise a young muslim family.Though I am presently working and living in Canada, but since December 2005 my mind always goes to Qatar,I even find it difficult to take any serious contract employment, thinking there is still hope.

Please your advice is needed accordingly.

Thanks

Guys, this is 4 years old thread, the guy who posted this must be well settled somewhere by now......

hey.. if you're so much into it, and if you feel that working in qatar is the best for you, you would have done something about it than waiting for about 5 years.

Yes, it's normal to wait a loooonnnggggg time for anything in this country. I'd give it another few months but if you haven't heard back from them by August you should start looking for another job.

Hi Eng,

Try emailing your CV to Brunel here in Doha, they specialize in engineering recruitment for oil & gas industry.

I would give up hope from that offer. Based on my understanding, things and people change here on a regular basis. The person who made you the offer has gone on to something else and whoever took his place is not honoring the previous offers.

You would be better to start the process over.

Sorry
