Hello, I need help on this important subject. My Husband and I want to move from the U.S and live in Qatar, we have 1 child. but we are both still in college finishing our education. he's getting a bachelors in mechanical engineering technology. and im working towards a bachelors and certification in teaching.
questions:
1st: how do you get job offers from companies in Qatar? do u have to apply?
2nd: can we leave right away after we graduate? are there companies that might take a fresh graduate? or do they always need experience?
3rd: Do companies there even need Mechanical engineers? it seems as if everything is for electrical engineers.. if so would you kindly just name some companies so i can take a look.

I appreciate all the help i get from anyone :)

thanks,

How you can ask such basic things and be at the end of college? How can you be a future teacher and you can not write properly? If you have a gram of mind stay there, here you would not last a second!

It would be very tough to get a job straight out of undergrad, especially in your fields. Schools and engineering firms will wants several years of experience--and being from the US you will be better off working for US firms that will pay or subsidize your federal taxes (which are substantial as an expat).

I'm new here having learned about QL from a friend...I cant help noticing your post and I think that getting experience is best before going to a foreign country

Work in the USA, get some reallly good experience, and then plan for the Middle East.. You need not wait 20 years, but yeah, give yourself at least 5-7 years of exp in the USA.

You would do much better to stay in the US until you have years of experience. Qatar tends to be good to those in senior positions - i.e., 20 years of experience - but very dismissive of those on the junior scale.
