Pitbull
A member on here is advertising a Pitbull dog for sale.
How does someone get a Pitbull dog in Qatar when they are a banned breed.
He is stating they are safe with children.
Does he not read the papers and that another child has died because of these dogs, a little four year old boy in the UK was attacked and killed by one of these dogs.
I'm not denying they can be dangerous - I'm just saying that any breed of dog can be. It suprises me that the top 3 killers are pitbulls, rottweilers and GSDs which everyone goes around saying are dangerous breeds yet no-one ever says anything about the siberian husky which is at number 4 and is the fashionable breed at the moment. I'd like to think there are far less huskies then GSDs in the world (but I don't have any stats to back that up!!) which would then make them even more dangerous.
There's no doubt there are more retriever breeds around and that increases your chances of being bitten by one purely because you're more likely to come in contact with one. I have 4 huskies in my house with my 13 month old but I know they've been reared and trained properly so I don't worry about my son crawling around with them.
You should never leave kids alone with any breed of dog.
Pitbulls are a restricted breed which means you have to get special permission to be allowed to bring one into Qatar. Once they're here, there's nothing to stop you breeding or selling puppies unfortunately. Luckily QL has a complete ban on selling any kind of animal so at least the classified will be removed. If 2 people flag the same advert then it is removed automatically so please flag animal classifieds!!
Pitbulls can be very loving dogs when raised the right way and handled correctly. I hand reared a litter of pitties from 24 hours old when they were rejected by their mother and they all turned into real softies to the point where a couple of the big boys are scared of cats!
There is no such thing as a dangerous breed - only dangerous owners. It's a shame that there are certain breeds that seem to attract more idiot owners then other breeds.
If you look at the top 10 dangerous dog breed list which is compiled from data regarding dog attack fatalities, you will find some suprise entries. In the top 10 most dangerous dogs you'll find the dalmatian at number 10, the alaskan malamute at number 5 and at number 4 is the siberian husky. That makes huskies more dangerous then dobermans, chow chows and boxers.
If you look at lists that are based purely on dog bites and not specifically fatal attacks, you will generally find labradors, golden retrievers and border collies on the list as they are the type of dog that people think are 100% safe and are the most likely to be left alone with small children.
I've been bitten more times then I can count and the majority of them have come from little terrier breeds that people spoil and turn into snappy little things that are far too big for their boots! Give me a doberman over a jack russell any day!!
