Barwa Bank celebrates Qatar's Fourth National Sport Day
Doha, Qatar - 15 February 2015 – Barwa Bank, Qatar's fastest growing Shari’ah compliant service provider, celebrated Qatar's Fourth National Sport Day with various activities to promote the importance of physical activity and leading a healthy lifestyle.
Marking the annual sports event, the bank’s participants took part in the 3 kilometre run organised by the Qatar Central Bank along the Corniche.Preparations for the day began weeks prior, with a highly competitive football tournament launched by Barwa Bank Group last month.
The Group’s Football Championship for Men kicked off in January 2015 and saw the competition of several teams from staff and management, as part of the group's fitness initiatives aimed to ensure the well-being of staff members.
The bank said in a statement: “National Sport Day is a distinctive opportunity to join the Group's employees and their families in the uniting spirit of sport. This day's activities not only encourages our employees to pursue a healthier lifestyle but also offers the opportunity to work together as a team outside the office.”
