This is what Khalifa Stadium will look like when it's finished in 2016
Qatar's iconic and oldest sports stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, is currently undergoing a major renovation to meet the FIFA standards for World Cup stadiums.
Once the remodelling is completed, the rejuvenated 40-year-old stadium will boast an expanded 40,000 seating capacity and some new features, including a museum and a parking facility for 6,000 vehicles and 2,300 buses.
Supreme Committee of Delivery and Legacy said they are planning for the stadium to be handed over to them by the end of 2016.
The aim of the renovation is not only to refurbish the stadium to fulfill the FIFA requirements, but to enhance it with new features as well.
Among the new additions, the stadium will include the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum. This museum will include historic sport collections and interactive exhibits, demonstrating the strong relationship that connects Qatar with world sports.
Food courts, shops, multi-purpose rooms, VIP lounges and a health centre will also be available on the upper and lower concourses will be built in the east wing.
Khalifa International Stadium will host the group stage, round of 16 and quarterfinal matches of World Cup 2022.

Since I am working there..... So I will reply on your comments.... Actually it's not empty at all.... This photo was captured in the time range from 11 AM to 3 PM... Nobody is allowed to work in Summer from 11 AM to 3 PM inside the project..... In peak summer, the temperature will be 26 degree (Plus or minus 2 degrees).... This stadium will be the first air conditioned stadium in Qatar... Roof is extended to minimize the external heat loads and to facilitate the air conditioning system
