That’s impressive! 61 days, we’re not talking about a decade or anything! And there are only about 1.5 million people in the whole country of Qatar!!

Based on these numbers 17500 accidents (16895 were minor ones) in March and April, 14 deaths, 325 injuries.

= 286 accidents per day

= 12 accidents per hour…there’ an accident every 5 minutes!

= 605 Major accidents (who knows what’s considered major)

= A major accident happens every 2.25 hours

= 1 person killed on the roads every 4.5 days

= 5.5 people injured per day

I just hate those who would slow down to 40 kmph when they see a speed radar on a road having a speed limit of 80 kmph. I mean, nobody should drive over the speed limit but to be on a safe side...one can come down to 75kmph or 70kmph. Driving at 40 or 50 kmph doesn't make any sense at all.

Last but not the least, the one who lowers the speed to half of the speed limit at a speed radar should be Jailed :P

They should also teach in driving schools how to drive with the flow of traffic. Mostly, the one going slower than the normal flow cause accidents. The Traffic Department should also introduce a Minimum Speed Limit on all the roads.
