Lounge across the road- Wrong

There is Metro station across the road that maybe he mistakenly thought was a lounge, wonder who charged him 30 Rs though.

Not allowed 3 hours prior to the flight- Wrong

I have checked in 6 hours prior to the flight

Only 2 food outlets and a newspaper agent- I didn't count but there are more than 2. There were 2 Bars where I spent my time and they were serving food as well. I am going there again in a couple of days so will count the number and post it here.

Xena I went into a hyperbole there, I meant this was the situation in the old airport :P

I am not sure whether the 'lounge' at Delhi Airport mentioned by Tony Collier in his story is across the road (I seem to remember that it used to be in the terminal building itself on one extreme end) but other than that he is right as I have myself used that lounge a few times in the last 4 years.

amzyvista, my question is very clear. do you agree?

this is what happened when you overfed yourself with dosa and paratha, those foods interfere with normal brain functions. try to lessen your intake for a least a week and let's see what you can UNDERSTAND after that.

if you are trying to stir something, go for it, my time is so precious.

Airport Survival Story:

- by Tony Collier

"Indira Ghandi Airport (IGA), Delhi is a strange place. Unlike most airports, you enter into the main lobby and, if hours before your flight - like me - you usually get to hang around in the lobby. IGA has a separate 'lounge' set aside (actually it's across the road) from the main terminal which you can stay in for about RS30. You won't be allowed into the main terminal until 3 hours prior to departure so you may as well hang out in the 'lounge'. At least it's air conditioned, quiet and relatively clean. Not very comfortable - only standard seats although I did see people contorting themselves into sleeping positions. There are two food outlets and a small newsagent. "

Its factually incorrect. This was the status 10 years back.

"Opened on 28th of July, the new terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi Airport is probably the worst piece of crap that have been named 'Airport' since airports exist: the aviation authority have succeeded in screwing up every aspects of this opening." - sbeyesati

From where did this "sbeyesati" get his/her training? Not in QL, I suppose.

This actually depends on different people see it from their own prespective and experiences so that list cannot be trusted completely and opinions will vary.I personally think Delhi Airport has been vastly improved and it adheres to world class specifications when it comes to passenger comfort. Most US airports have this extra security check which is part of Homeland Security strategies. Most Asian as well as Arab airports have many problems like bribery, disorderly conditions and poor management but improvements are bieng made in all aspects.

New Delhi airport is more than ethnic-modern and comfortable with world class facilities now...My in-laws just had been to Delhi airport and they told me about the superb lounges comfy chairs and moreover the intra-travel small toy jeeps to support elder people like Dubai are there..baby Prams, wheechairs and wonder carpets are everywhere...Delhi Airport is full of glass work and more than good architecture.Past is past.Delhi Airport is world class now...it must a be an old post... :)
