Help, nobody at any of the game shops can confirm if games like bio-shock will work with my vista 7 64bit operating system. I found to my cost that autocad is very fusy about the operating system, any help will be welcom,
why dont you google it?
Go with the 64bit OS for sure. The Operating System is backwards compatible with all 32bit applications. Some (very few) games have had a few issues with the newer OS, but if you right click the game's icon on the desktop and go to properties, you can select the program to run in "Compatibility Mode" ie: WinXP SP2 mode, etc. That fixes the problem 99% of the time.
I am using a Sony VAIO Laptop which you could call a high-end one , I was using Windows Vista x64 a couple of months ago and there wasn't any problem running Games on it , plus be sure if the game says in its System Requirements (4GB RAM or more) that it will , and MUST work on x64 , if God Wills of. Now I am running Ubuntu Linux x86_64 and it can run games via Wine perfectly without any problems , and also using virtualbox is good.
64bit is good on Linux and MacOS, but I'd use 32-bit windows...
