Absolute Nutters on the roads

This has probably been on the forum before. If so, well...I shall post anyway. Land Cruiser (drivers) are the worst, they think that just because they are in a big vehicle they can cut you up almost causing an accident and then they look at you as though it is your fault. Anybody with a similar view or are they just doing it to me ?

Pink KIAs get a bad press , because people are jealous of the looks and speed...

IMHO, There are many bad drivers on Qatar roads, irrespective of the vehicle..

Not defending Land Cruisers, but even worst are the Manual Nissan Patrol drivers :(

remember speed kills... and for your info left lane is not only for fast moving vehicle... in Qatar the fast lane never exist!

The only way driving in Qatar would become safer is if

a) there was the chance of loosing your licence after x amount of traffic violations. With jail time and name & shame in a nationl paper for people caught driving without a licence.

b) less cameras and more well trained traffic police to catch dangerous driving; cameras only catch speeding...sometimes.

c) the law was applied equally, regardless of race, social status, or who you know.

A 19-year-old Qatari was killed when his car hit the North Atlantic Collage Roundabout in Duhail and flipped over yesterday morning. Sources said the accident occurred “due to the driver’s recklessness and excessive speed”.

Do we need more proof? Just have a look at the reason of the accident.

The drivers of these f**k**g things make my blood boil! They are the worst drivers on the road. I hate them all. If I had a tank I would blow them all off the road.

dumb LC driver cut me off and gestured, when i gestured back, he slowed down in front of me and wanted to stop his vehicle in the middle of the highway.... before he could get out of his car I was halfway out of my vehicle to go over and strangle the a-hole with his headscarf... when he saw how big i was, and that i was going to take his shit, he sped off like a coward! ...typical!

I don't mind spending time in jail or getting kicked out of the country for 'educating' a dumb-ass who doesn't exercise courtesy on the raods, but don't ever put my family in danger when we are driving!!!!

Forget Landcruisers - the worst drivers are the jiggerboos driving those small buses at breakneck speeds all over Qatar! Because the steering wheel is literally over the front of these vehicles jingly drivers feel like Pandit Fittipaldi and drive stupidly! This aint Mumbai boys so start to drive sensibly!

By bleu• 16 Apr 2009 08:53

FW, I will only "cut you up" when you won't budge after the flash...

One thing with these landcruiser drivers and others, they need to learn a little patience. Even when you are passing someone, they still flash you to get out of the way. Then when they get a chance, they cut you up. That is one of the reasons that the majority of them do not have any front indicators, because they have clipped someone by cutting out to pass........always in a hurry

!! HELP OTHERS SO GOD WILL HELP YOU !!

Just Dont Block the first LEFT track and you are cool..

No Land cruiser owner will give you that look..

The common trend among people I noticed that if it's a BIG vehicle out there in left lane and another BIG vehicle guy wants to overtake, if the first one won't budge even after flashing the beam, the later gently moves to right lane and goes without any complaints; on the other hand if it's a Small cab they try to do things that can eventually lead to an accident purposely.

Is there any law stating that the left lane vehicle speed should be within this limit or is it just a courtesy!

Just curious!

I have 2 strategies for driving here. The first, if I am driving in the left lane (usually because I need to turn left) and someone flashes me from a kilometer back, I just take my foot of the accelerator, that annoys them. The second, I use my indicators properly, that just confuses them

Imagine the situation a Land cruiser guy moves on the left lane in a speed of about 70 or 80 and another guy who travels in a car wants to go ahead on the same lane!

Probably the LC guy will stick to the lane no matter what others think!

not my fault i caused a accident - i was doing 200 kph and he did not move.

not my fault i sexually harassed that woman, she was showing 1mm of cleavage.

you should hear the BS excuses i hear from my staff when they miss deadlines or screw something up.

we had one incident last night at a traffic signal, the lights were already green and the cars were not moving and when they did, only few seconds left the lights changed to red, so we were stuck there.. and then when the light turned green again, same thing happened,.. cars were moving slowly and there's this one car in the front of the line, guess why he wasn't moving on a green light -- he was chatting with his passenger!! grrr!

I hate when someone gets their slow butt out in the left lane, driving 70km with their indicator on because the intend on turning 3 Kms up the road.

The Prado is a dinky toy in comparison to the Landcruiser which is a Tonka.

landcruisers eat Prados for breakfast and spit them out without even a pause for breath...

The only think better is a Hummer H1 .... Haven't seen on in Qatar yet :(

Posterial void driving a Silver Coloured Landcruiser tinted windows, actually cut up not one but two Learner drivers, not acceptable. It happens to me a lot but after more than 12 years here I come to expect it. But not to learner drivers. Learner drivers cause enough havoc on the roads but these clowns don't help at all. I am going to start posting the description of these fool's vehicle and number plates. Name and shame, that's what I say

It's bad enough to have idiots cutting in and out of traffic doing 150KPH in a 100 zone, but when you factor in another guy doing 50 in the same zone it is obvious why there are so many wrecks in Doha.

sometimes its only the personal or family driver of the owner.

If he's alone in the vehicle they are making some fast & the furious turn, pretending the owner of the big machine.

Just be alert.

Generaly it will be your fault. In last year I have been on doha roads I have had 2 incidences of a landcruiser flashing at me and it was my fault.

Just keep out of the left lane the bigger vehicles will go past.

I feel that it is generaly the non qataries who are the worst drivers and cause more of the accidents
