Accidnet on Al wabb - Police Attitude!

By northernlad

There was a bad accident this morning on Al Wabb, close to the Petrol Station. A minibus had ben involved in an accident with another car, and had rolled over a few times, and landed in the central reservation upside down. There were people lying on the road, and on the grass, looking serioulsy injured. Another man was trying to get out of the bus, and he was obvioulsy in pain.

It must have happened recently, as the first police landcruiser just arrived. Another one arrived, and I was shocked to see the policemen laughing and giving each other 'high fives' whilst people are lying there, and traffic is building up.

Not the sort of response I would expect.........

I think what we lack in Qatar in general is a lack of Empathy, its good for all people to realize we should care more about each other. It could be your own family members you are cutting off in a road incident. Once I had a co worker nearly kill me and boy was he embarrassed being in such a small country its easy to happen.

My experience has been that the police are quite courteous helpful in case of accidents, especially involving injury to personnel.

This must be young brats.

May be too much exposure to such incidents had desensitized them.

Sorry to hear that.... I have found the police to behave appropriately and swiftly at accidents. I usually feel sorry for them because they are the first people who have to deal with the stupidity of some and suffering of others.

unfortunately I guess it is because of the rule that no one apart from medical qualified should handle the injured person

they may have felt unable to do anything that would help, no first aid training perhaps, so safer to wait for the ambualnce, and this may have been their way of ignoring the pain they felt as a reult.

Yep i mentioned this on another thread, i passed by that area in the morning and seen the carnage. didnt see anyone lying on the grass as there were already a couple of ambulances standing there and i saw one person put in the ambulance, i thought he was the driver coz didnt see anyone else around. The traffic flow then was pretty fine and was being diverted properly by the cops.

Dont know about the police attitude but may be they were just greeting each other hmmm

agreed, but they may do something, get you kicked out for reporting it, or put you in prison for harassment
