advice needed for satellite internet access

Hi all,

was having a tough time trying to access the internet as the landlord uses one plan for the entire building. I could hardly access even yahoo or hotmail.

Apart from going direct to Qtel for a new application, is there any satellite internet access at reasonable price? I believe the dish at the roof currently used for the cable TV could be used as part of the internet medium?

You may even wait for some time and keep a close watch at Global Wireless Broadband Summit to be held in six days.

Also, wait for new tele communications companies to get in to Qatar Market.

Not always is necessary the local telecom to upload...

Exist also Internet satelite 2 ways

Telecom regulations do not allow Satellite internet in Qatar

There is only one authorized dealer in Qatar for that: "Thuraya" - But the prices.... Oh my god!

check out Orbit, they provide internet satellite in Bahrain for reasanoble prices... but not in qatar.... It is very possible to buy the service in Bahrain and move your decoder to Qatar... for sure it will work....

Well, for your situation either get a new ADSL connection through QTel or simply use QTel Dial Up connection.

You can buy Qr.30/- or Qr.50/- cards to access internet through your regular phone line for no extra cost.

Well hotbird can give u access to satellite internet. But the thing is, you

can only recieve data thru it and u will have to send data by Qtel. It costs

more than the regular dsl from qtel and it gives the same speed.

It's always the small things that make big differences.
