Ahli Hospital Emergency services

I took my wife to Ahli hospital emergency yesterday since she has a very high temperature & body pain. The hospital was not crowded as usual and there were no critical cases with other patients as per my discussion with one of the nurses. The admission was very fast (Payment and insurance procedure) but the main problem was that we were waiting for 2 hours and we didn’t see any doctor to check her up. I asked the nurses many times about the delay and they were always claiming that there is one patient before us for 2 hours. Meanwhile i was watching the doctors checking their mobiles, chatting and laughing in the corridor area. I asked again the nurses since my wife was shivering and crying and he told me that they need more 30 mns. I brought the wheel chair, take her to the car and went to Doha Clinic after showing a very clear bad feedback about the system. Doha Clinic doctor took 5 mns after admission to check her condition and to start the clinical procedure.
Usually in normal out-patient clinic we don't wait for 2 hours. Is it normal to wait 2 hours in Emergency without any doctor check up? Knowing that as i mentioned above the hospital was not crowded with no critical cases and it’s not the first time that this case happened to us in the same hospital.

By the way, most of the Locals go to the West to seek treatment when they are badly sick... how come? The hospital here have great infrastructures, but the doctors who are here... and this has nothing to do with the religion , etc. It is just that the training they received in their home country is not enough...

This is what happens when you bring third world people and let them play the doctors... welcome to the Gulf...it is like that in every field.... shocking when you come from the West

for gyne departement Al Ahli hospital is worst. I personally faced horrible experience with them on march 2014. My wife was in serious condition..about to miscarriage. We wait 3 hours to visit doctor. After that doc says need to admit hospital. After 2 hours they said there is no room to admit. It is God that just help us out on this situation. Then I visited Doha hospital. From there doc says no need for medical admission, just be in home all will be fine.

Gyne doctors in Al Ahli is stupid. I visited two lady doctors (indian). I just don't want to mention there name right now. Can anybody tell me is there any medical governing body in Qatar where I can report on there poor management as well the Doctor knowledge.

Referring to the first comment (Sbybot). I just need to say that it's very easy to shout and scream. I showed a very bad feedback directly to the doctors, Nurses and the administration faces. Added to that, I sent an email to the ministry of health, the hospital by itself and other local magazines. I just need to clarify to the person who showed me as a coward that it's very easy to be a gangster and very difficult to be a gentleman. My priority was my wife. And I’m very satisfied with my reaction.

Thanks all for your comments & support. I sent the same email to Ahli Hospital (in contact us) yesterday hoping that the administration of the hospital will do something. I received the following answer:

"Thank you for contacting us, You will be contacted by one of our representatives ASAP"

I think that ASAP means after (1 month) in their dictionary.

they are just fast on charging your insurance. Dont even think having any treatments there.

i was confined in that hospital - just to undergo all the test - and after 3 days, the result is "nothing to be worried"... they did all the laboratory tests knowing my insurance will pay for it.

Al Ahli hospital staff is very bad (both administrative and medical). They will never give you a proper answer if you ask something. Dont go tere if you`rte holding an insurence card. They will try to eat the whole money on your card. They`re more business minded than service minded.

Insha Allah She will be back to the Good Health soon.

if am i hungry, i should eat rather than counting season fruits in my mind.

the medical emergency response needs a prompt, proper medical care under a qualified Doctor... all the besides & related facilities are not such important
