Al Khor

Dear all,

I will be moving soon to Qatar with my family. I will be working in Ras Laffan and housing would be provided for us in Al Khor. Anyone that can tell me more about Al Khor? Facilities, environment, schooling (kids are aged 4 n 6), living conditions etc.....
Is this a place where it is enjoyable to live or should I insist on accomodation in Doha.

consider the 1.5 hours travel time to and fro..would you really want that. apart from it, Alkhor to Doha is only roughly 30 minutes drive. so you wont miss doha much

cheers

Might want to try doing a search on here. From what I have read you either live in the company compound (which is like a small town) or you live in Doha and have to commute. Not much really to Al Khor outside of that. I have heard good things about the company compound and unless it was just crap, I wouldn't want to commute everyday.
