To all the women out there

Mis-Cat
By Mis-Cat

This article appeared in the May issue of "House-Keeping Monthly" circa 1955. No wonder our men aren't happy these days.

Panda, you write that everything changes now. But doesn't look like it when I watch the lifestyle of my neighbours. And as Brit says, "Humanity evolves as circumstances / environments change." Yeah! cz when I was living in another part of Qatar, (the only place I've lived) the attitude of men and women towards women were so different from that of the people in the area am living right now.

shouldn't this article be titled "the good SLAVE's guide"????

"...his topics of conversation are more important than yours…"? ..well, only if he is still at the office..but HOME?? What man can talk about at home that is more important than his wife’s topics??

“You have no right to question him”??? - that one i leave without coment at all..

...I think they have been mistaken..

"A good SLAVE always knows her place"...

You're right.. Though the line can apply today also, although the "place" will be different. I could also say that a "goo husband knows hs place"..

Our parents' generation had a differnt perspective on marriage. In those times, it worked most of the time..

We have moved on and there is more equality and sharing of "duties", though not perhaps as you would wish..

I see my my son and his wife, and their relationship is again different.

Humanity evolves as circumstances / environments change.

Whatever lines you "say" Brit, isn't exactly what goes through the mind of those men. Look at that last line of that artice... "A good wife always knows her place". So where is that?

evil!! Look at all the underlined and circled highlights. So WHAT is a woman actually? Some"thing" made solely for man's pleasure. sorry, but it makes me angry. Probably most men wouldn't be looking at me for a wife.

with a naughty wife you get some real "perks" that make you forget the house is a pig sty, the kids are rude and out of control, dinner comes in a round bucket with an old man's pic on the front, etc. or did you want the good wife who is happy and gay to see you...I think they forgot one instruction for her..."get good and liquored up before he gets home so you can pretend that this is the life you've always wanted". Seriously, it was interesting to read and very very funny!

Same here... Infact he'd follow me around trying to find what I'm upto. Actually its a really good idea.. maybe i can do this and freak him out.
