O MY GOD!!! These are just merely 3 words to describe what an evening it was that day...

Friday, 14th of August will be remembered as an absolutely wonderful day not only for the Pakistan Independence Day but also cos of Angels Vs Demons Pool Tourney!

We planned to start the tournament with 24 players but ended up starting with 32 players...yes 32 was the actual count ... O so exciting was the runup, lineup and play up of the tournament...

There were some really really close matches...and some very exciting quick ones...!

Overall, it was a great evening...

Thanks to everyone who made it out there and supported us...!

In a very little bit, Smoke will come up with a list of WINNERS ... of the Elimination Round and the QuaterFinals Round...

What a day was yesterday? Nice to see so many members from QL. Three cheers for Smoke and KSA who orgnize this event. As said earlier the club was full with players and cheer leaders:) But miss cheerlada where are you Khanan bro?

Congrats to all the players who went through the elimination round and better luck next time who lost in the round. Some matches were very close and till end no sure who will take that game.

Coffee Beanery is a cool place but sometimes u have to wait to get a table and guys we need more than 20 chairs LoL. It will be messed up. Better change to some place where we can sit have a cup of coffee talk and discuss things peacefully. Thats just a suggestion or else its fine with me. As i like that place.

cOOl we have the photographers, cheer-lady's and cheer-ladas! Now everyone needs to concentrate more on their game..elimination round is going to be quick this is where each one needs to play really good to stay on in the tournament. Two more days before the tournament starts. Anyone's hearts racing? Looks like some folks have got a taste of what to expect and are all ready and pumped up for the tourney.

Tomorrow is the coffee meeting where i expect all players to show up. We'll be making the team selection and explaining to everyone the rules, procedures, timings etc.

Back to the tournament, one week to go and after talking to some players we have come to agreement that it would be good to finish up the tournament before the start of Ramadan. So when we meet up for coffee we'll talk more about the days and timings.

1. If you sink the 8 ball on the break you WIN the frame.

This is self explanatory. On the break, if the black ball sinks in

the pocket, you win the frame.

2. All fouls are ball in hand.

If your opponent makes a foul, you have the following options:

A) Ball in hand, move the white ball and place anywhere to take

your shot

B) Do NOT move the white ball and take TWO shots.

C) Place the white ball behind the line and take TWO shots.

3. Potting the 8 ball in the side pockets is NOT allowed.

Again this is self explanatory; you can only pocket the 8 ball in any of the 4 corner pockets by calling it first.

4. If the player makes a foul on the last ball (8 ball)

If your opponent makes a foul on the last ball (8 ball) you CANNOT use ball in hand or behind the line rule. You have to play the shot from where ever the white ball stops. This rule doesn’t apply IF the white ball falls into the pocket (scratch) when trying for the 8 ball. If it’s a scratch you have the option to play ball in hand.

5. You have to call the pocket before potting the last ball (8 ball)

Please be extra careful when you are potting the 8 ball. If you do not call the pocket and make the shot YOU WILL LOSE the match. Your opponent has to acknowledge your intended shot to the pocket you chose.

6. Sinking the 8 ball in your called pocket followed by sinking the white ball will result in victory to your opponent.

7. Use of the “extension stick” on the last ball is not allowed

You cant use the extension stick when trying to pocket the 8 ball.

8.NO jump shots allowed on the last ball (8 ball)

You cannot make a jump shot when trying to pocket the black ball. This will be counted as a foul.

FOULS:

In this tournament please take the time to read what will be considered as fouls. I know everyone has their own version of what is considered a foul but there has to be ONE uniform rule to this tournament.

1. Pocketing the white ball on break.

2. Sinking your opponent’s object ball after you hit your object ball.

3. Sinking your object ball along with your opponent’s object ball.

4. Sinking your object ball along with the white ball.

5. If you miss hitting your object ball.

6. If you hit your opponent’s object ball, before you hit your object ball.

7. White ball falls off the table.

8. Object ball falls off the table. In such case the object ball will be placed back on the table.

9. Your cue stick touches your opponent’s object ball.

10. If your foot is not touching the ground when making a stretch shot.

11. If your hand touches or accidentally moves your opponent’s object ball

12. When making one hand shots, the other hand MUST be touching the table.

Please note:

[*] You do not have to call each pocket when making a shot, except when potting the black ball.

[*] It has come to my attention that making a slop or fluke shot is generally not allowed, but I have looked this up and unless specified before the game, such shots can be termed a legal pot if the game is played without calling each pocket.

Razzak buddy, this is for pure fun and we dont want to make it too hard for everybody. We can have those rules for the FINALS i dont mind it, should make the game more interesting.

KSA and I will organize a coffee meet up for all participants a week or so before the tournament starts, where we'll collect all entry fees & have some coffee. We will also do the selection of players there and then in front of everyone as to who will be playing in which group. Any clarifications about the games any discussions we'll have it then.
