Amber, I have evaluated a lot of notebooks interms of performance, usability, durability vs cost. I would recommend Lenovo as they are tough, durable, fast. When choosing fast processors always check the heat factor. Incase of lenovo the fan & processor are very quiet and it does not HEAT-UP in your LAP. It may be ugly as someone mentioned earlier but it is one of the best. Sony & MAC with i5 processor will be quite expensive as u have a low budget... Kindly avoid LG, Samsung and other toys offered in promotions ... Also incase of ACER you will have to adjust with the keyboard layout as it is quite different from the standard. Regards

Did you consider visiting some shops to know which models are available in your budget?

Some people do that you know. Visit the stores so try it.

A piece of advice from my side:)

Never use a hot hair dryer to dry a wet surface of the appliance ;)

if you're budget is from 2,000-2,7000 den go for a ACER laptop, it has all the features you've mentioned above...there's no such nice laptops, it depends on the people how to take care of their things....Good Luck!

I suggest you go for Acer.

Try it at Careefour.

Don't even think about LG, i have never seen a successful LG laptop.

Sony is very expensive.

Samsung new range is good as far as battery backup is concern.
