I told you, Torque, this woman (cat) is dangerous. (Have to fix another one, just like the other one).

Fatcat has a heart for losers. Hey, Torque, aren't we both losers??

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:41
Fatcat

Hey, it's not personal... :D

I just want Hamilton and Raikonnen to spin and go home early :D

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 21:39
Torque

Traction MD, tension in the pitlane was high I'm sure, but then again until the path becomes clear it would have been high for sure!

Thanks Cat...., love you too!!

Torque 8-)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:38
Fatcat

MD, you need to go on to Facebook!

By The Finn• 13 Sep 2008 21:37
The Finn

Lol, we'll find out tomorrow ..

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:36
Fatcat

Ah, ok. I thought you abandoned us!

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 21:35
anonymous

Cat, I like that: MD, where are you?

I'm here, Baby, just had to fix another drink.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:34
Fatcat

Finn. Poor you!

I still hope your guy loses tomorrow :)

And Torque's guy too :)

By The Finn• 13 Sep 2008 21:32
The Finn

Cant do that, Im trapped in Dubai without alcohol :D So basically Im just jealous :D

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 21:32
anonymous

cat, I would not dare to stop as long as I have your and Torque's company. Torque, traction or tension?

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:31
Fatcat

MD, where are you?

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:29
Fatcat

Finn... C'mon. Grab yourself a bottle and join us.

Hopefully your man will lose tomorrow anyway :D

By The Finn• 13 Sep 2008 21:28
The Finn

Hijacking, this thread is so far offtopic .. I thought I'll get it back on track.. But too much boozing going on.. :D

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 21:27
Torque

Torque is helpful when traction is too low...!!

True though!

Wine going down a treat, must iron shirt soon....

Be interesting to see how Kimi & Lewis fare from the mid-pack, anyone expecting to NOT see a bump or two...

Torque 8-)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:27
Fatcat

Torque, I'm already on the second bottle. It's called Santa Cristina. I think it's a bordeaux blend, not quite sure though :D

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:23
Fatcat

MD...

Did u stop the vodkas?

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:21
Fatcat

PMSL? What's that?

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 21:21
anonymous

So, the problem for Kimi was that the setup of the tires in correspondence with the loaded fuel did not produce enough heat to develop grip which caused the Ferrari to behave sluggish in the Ascari corner and resulted in a lap time of more than 1:48 seconds. That's what we are talking about. It really is a problem with the tires. When the profile on the "wet" tires is worn down, there is not enough rubber left to produce enough grip through heat. (Still on the 6th)

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 21:19
Torque

PMSL Fatcat!!!

Have another bottle!

Torque 8-)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:17
Fatcat

LOL. It's my thread. I get to say who highjacked it or not!

You're right, MD. I'm just too tipsy to be serious now :D

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 21:14
anonymous

The Finn did not hijack this thread! We did. It was all about Formula 1.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:10
Fatcat

I did, MD. Qtel realized I had not paid my bill and disconnected me. Then they felt sorry for me and gave me my connection back :D

Btw, I finished my first bottle :D

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 21:08
Torque

Sorry to hear that, had kind of hoped it had made it!

My 'net also dropped the ball as well, twice in the last 30 mins....arrrrgggghhhh!

Torque (4 beers + one bottle red, next going down nicely)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 21:07
Fatcat

The finn... Stop highjacking the thread, LOL.

Just joking, grab yourself a bottle (yes, a whole bottle is required) of wine and make yourself at home.

I hope 1-2 for Finland tomorrow.. Heikki should be up for it but Kimi is far behind.. We have 2½ finnish drivers there :D

Give Dracula some of your wine, Torque. He won't take mine!

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:46
Fatcat

Oh I'm indeed working tomorrow. It's actually a very important day for me at work.

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 20:45
Torque

Come on over guys, let's open a few more!! Lol

I've had Columbian before Cat, liked that very much!

Torque 8-)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:44
Fatcat

LOL, MD. I'm blushing :D

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 20:43
anonymous

no, cat, there is something true in what you say. The best coffee is grown in some altitude. Hence Colombian is very good. Ethiopia has high mountains, too. But for Brazil it's the black magic soul of the North Eastern plateau. You see, a "lover" of something makes irrational arguments about why he loves something. So, Brazilian coffee for me goes together with Samba, Ipanema, Pele, and fatcat.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:41
Fatcat

Dracula, if you're on this thread it means you need to talk to me :D

By Dracula• 13 Sep 2008 20:40
Dracula

"Right, another bottle has to be opened!"

share it!!!!

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:40
Fatcat

OMG, Torque. You don't have to work tomorrow, do you?!

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:39
Fatcat

I hear that the best coffee is from Colombia (I think - could be wrong - plus I'm on my 3rd glass). That is because they hand pick it, as opposed to the way they pick in Brazil, by shaking the trees and hoping for the best.

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 20:38
Torque

..you poured me the other night, a bit sweet for me though as I never have sugar in tea or coffee, but certainly delicious!

Torque

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 20:36
Torque

I don't usually show it either, but sat here on my own has made me a tad contemplative doing the old 'what ifs'....

Right, another bottle has to be opened!

Torque

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 20:34
anonymous

Nah, black is beautiful, says a coffee lover.

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 20:33
Torque

Thought a cat would prefer cream? ;-)

Torque

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 20:32
anonymous

Torque, he got what it takes. Did you know that I am very sensitive, too. No, I don't show it. Look at my comments. Concerning Brazilian coffee, they have a lot, but the very very best is from Ethiopia, because that's where it originates from. But, cat, I would love to get a small present from you if you come back from Brazil. It's what you have in mind when you buy it what counts, nothing else.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:31
Fatcat

Last February.

I'm not a coffee drinker (that's another secret!), so I can't really say if our coffee is good. I like my coffee with lots of milk, that shows how much I understand about coffee.

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 20:27
Torque

Never tried Brazilian coffee, good is it?

When did you last go Cat?

Torque

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 20:24
Torque

.., so your secret should stay your secret lol!

MD, the silly thing is that he does miss me loads too, just has a funny way of showing his emotions, last time he cried his eyes out when I left to return to Dubai, a very sensitive soul. But love his so much!

IF I hasn't called my Mum I'd have been in so much trouble, me & my bro have to remind each other so we don't forget!!!! ;-)

No shame in that MD, very natural, Chris only rings my Mum when he wants a life or 'something'.

Torque (4 beers + half bottle of Shiraz)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:24
Fatcat

Hey, I don't know when I'm going there next, but when I do go I'll bring you some.

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 20:22
anonymous

I only drink Brazilian Ground Coffee.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:22
Fatcat

Oh, the spoil reputation refers to the b. instead of nice.

I know, it's terrible. That's why I don't drink too often!

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:20
Fatcat

The other half is Italian :)

And I'm 100% Brazilian.

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 20:19
anonymous

Fatcat, no, it's my thing. I only called my mother when I needed money. Shame on me.

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 20:18
anonymous

Yes, man, you can be proud of him. And you know what, he'll probably be proud of his dad who let's him do these things. Doesn't happen too often.

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 20:16
anonymous

Don't spoil your reputation, girl!

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 20:16
Torque

passion & ability is with the drums, bought him his first set at 3 & he's been semi-pro since 13 playing all over the UK, mainly at motosport events when he's not doing pub gigs.

James Toseland (ex WSB champion) joined him a couple of years ago on stage, was an awesome night at Silverstone's Paddock Bar!

I'm very proud of him!

Torque 8-)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:16
Fatcat

MD, is that a German thing? My German side of the family never calls on birthdays!

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:14
Fatcat

LOL - oh, that.

Let me tell you a secret, MD. I've been told that I become nice when I drink. And that came from a person who spends a lot of time with me (not my husband, lol - my co-worker). So, from now on, if I say something nice, just ignore it!

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 20:12
anonymous

True, Torque, my mother always complained that I never called her.

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 20:09
anonymous

Well, first of all, cat, everybody here knows you are mean. My "sarcastic" pointed to the fact that you were complaining about not being "invited" by me. But that should not be a problem. I discuss it with Suzanna, get permission from Jumana, and then we'll have a candlelight dinner at ... where ever you like. And we'll be dancing.

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 20:08
Torque

..is my view!

The little touches can make the biggest impact.

As do calls out the blue, that usually works well with family I've found.

Torque

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:08
Fatcat

LOL, MD. Are you biaised or what?!

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:07

The difference is that my asian meal comes from the frozen aisle ;)

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 20:05
anonymous

Hey, Torque, you're guy is studying music? He will be having a beautiful life then! (6 Vodka)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:05
Fatcat

MD, I wasn't being mean... I was being realistic. Normally, a few years back, she'd have complained to my mom that I forgot her birthday. I didn't receive any complaints, so I can just assume she didn't notice.

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 20:02
Torque

....Goan chicken with Lindemans Shiraz!

Torque 8-)

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 20:00

Now you are sarcastic, cat. Don't you remember the song I sang yesterday (John Prine)

"In a town this size

there is no place to hide

Every where you go

you meet some one you know

you can't steal a kiss

in a place like this

how the rumors will fly

in a town this size"?

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 20:00
Fatcat

I forgot about my granny's birthday this year. Shameful!

I don't think she noticed it, though. Alzheimers.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 19:58

Semillon/chardonnay goes really well with lemongrass chicken :D

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 19:58
Torque

, she was walking the dog in the fields at the time!

No, she did see him last week but apparently he's very busy with music college, gigs with his different bands & his job.

I'm actually writing his a letter & hopefully that might make a difference.

Torque (4 beers + one glass of red)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 19:56
Fatcat

Thanks for invite, MD, I sort of invited myself, lol. I'm shameless!

Torque, red wine after beer? Wow, you're gonna have a monster hangover tomorrow.

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 19:52
anonymous

Did you call your Mom then, Torque? She might be able to tell you if your son showed up.

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 19:50
Torque

..., was my Mum's birthday today so I tried to get hold of him to make sure he'd call her, or visit, he only lives 5 mins from her house & she loves him to bits!

Have tried to get hold of him for several weeks now, but no joy, has been driving me nuts..

Red wine open now!

Torque

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 19:47
anonymous

cat, the indication of the grade of intoxication was an agreement between Torque and me, so we could judge when either of us was beginning to talk nonsense. Feel free to join this treaty.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 19:46
Fatcat

Can't get hold of your lad? What's that?

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 19:43
Fatcat

But you already had the show! One can't dance without the musician :)

So all this alcohol talk made me open a botle of wine :) Wait 'till I catch up!

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 19:43
Torque

Not sad about that FC, realised that most of the beers have gone after a visit through the night from friends on Thursday... ;-)

Seriously, because I can't get hold of my lad, but do know his driving test is coming up very shortly.

Send messages, try his mob, try the old house, but no joy. Kinda like talking to a brick wall which is never nice regardless of any circumstances..

Torque

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 19:42
anonymous

..like Jackson Browne wrote it in his song "Rosie" from the album "Running on Empty", .. "and the drummer swept the girl away". That's what normally happens. Yeah, that's what my experience tells me, too. (5 Vodka)

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 19:38
anonymous

...take over, catty.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 19:37
Fatcat

Then it's their minute to do what? Dance?

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 19:30
anonymous

for you fatcat: musicians don't dance. They wait until the (latino) dancers are exhausted from jumping around, then it's their minute.

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 19:26
anonymous

then your comments are getting useless, Torque, just like mine.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 19:23
Fatcat

His gf is in Dubai, MD.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 19:22
Fatcat

No offense but... your sort of have to be latino to dance latino music :)

With a few exceptions, but very few :)

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 19:21
Torque

MD, 3 Beers...so far! lol

Feeling sad!

Torque

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 19:20

Torque

Don't fancy being scratched just for offering...!!

Torque ;-)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 19:12
Fatcat

LOL, MD. Of because they know I have two left feet, so to be able to lead me is not the easiest of tasks ;)

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 19:11
anonymous

Ha, that's due to your miserable reputation, cat. Nobody dares. Of course, everybody knows you bite and you have claws, and ...

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 19:08
Torque

...at some point & so you shouldn't worry about your perceived skill, as long as you enjoy it!

Torque 8-)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 19:05
Fatcat

Oh, no, what I meant is that I do not dance alone, I need somebody to lead me. So far Skanky was the only brave one :)

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 19:03
Torque

I thought you needed two good feet to dance well...?!!

Torque 8-)

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 18:50
anonymous

I didn't say I wanted to dance with you. I might play and sing "The Girl from Ipanema" (if you give me time to practice it). Then you dance with whoever you want, and then I tell you if it's true or not that you are a "terrible" dancer.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 18:43
Fatcat

I only dance with Skanky, MD :)

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 18:20
anonymous

Let me decide on that, will ya?

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 18:17
Fatcat

Oh, I'm a terrible dancer :(

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 18:12
anonymous

would love to see you dancing it. It is a challenge for every guitar player especially the version of Astrud Gilberto. I think her brother is also a god on the guitar.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 18:10
Fatcat

Yup, that's the English version of it. Are you in to Bossa Nova?

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 18:00
anonymous

tall and turning, young and lovely the girl from Ipanema goes walking, and when she passes each one she passes goes mmmhhh

when she walks she's like a samba that swings so cool and sways so gently and when she passes each one she passes goes mmmmmhhh oh but I watch her so sadly, how can I tell her I love her, ....... you know how it ends, I was looking back to see if she was looking back to see if I was looking back to see if she was looking back to see ....

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 17:55
Fatcat

LOL

The girl from Ipanema... Do you know that song? I'm impressed!

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 17:53

Should I name them? Pele, Fangio, Fittpaldi, The Girl from Ipanema, FatCat ...

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 17:51

I just download the ITV version (complete with pre-race show) in High Def quality off the internet. And, avoid looking at news websites and the newspaper between Sunday and Monday. (Also tend to cut off colleageus on Monday morning if conversation starts drifting to F1). "Don't tell me what happened, haven't seen it yet" :-)

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 17:36
Fatcat

MD, deep down I know you support Massa. You just don't want to admit to it :D

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 17:30
anonymous

yes, Torque, these guys experience extreme psychological and physical pressure. But on the other hand, they are professionals, and they collect good money for the stress. So I tend to enjoy their performance but I am not a fan of a specific driver.

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 17:25
Torque

..., he has to believe in himself as he has so much to offer the avid spectator, sport & team.

Torque

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 17:22

maybe that's why Kimi is losing, Torque, too much distraction. Hey, I'm not driving!!

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 17:20
Torque

MD, very distracting.... ;-)

Torque

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 17:19

Funny.. I also start walkabout when Raikonen "F%%%s up"..

Tomnorrow will be interesting.. I hope Massa wins and Hamilton comes in 15th, but ofcourse it won't hapen.. It all depends on team strategies tomorrow. Who will go for a one-stopper.

By Torque• 13 Sep 2008 17:08
Torque

Thanks Fatcat & MD for time confirmation.

Lol FC, I hope Hamilton shows us the talent we know he has, but similarly I've not heard the forecast for tom so that'll be interesting if it proves to be a wet one again!!

Right, food then a walk me thinks

What time is the race on tom, same time?

Share your thoughts re in the pub Fatcat, used to go with my wife to my old local & then make an afternoon & evening of it with friends!

Right, back to the stove...

They also have English commentary on Al Jazeera Sports 2+ or 3+. These are pay channels, however. If you don't mind German commentary you can watch it live on Hotbird, RTL.

By Fatcat• 13 Sep 2008 16:54
Fatcat

Having a dry track also helps, MD :)

I can't wait for the race. Too bad I can only get it in Arabic. If there's one thing I miss is going with hubby (back home) to the pub and watching it there, over a beer and a greasy meal!

By anonymous• 13 Sep 2008 16:50

I too, watched it. Had to pick up my kids after that. Had a clean track in Doha this time. Record laps.
