Apologies but I have to do this

I'm kind of feeling softie for children tonight. I feel utter repugnance at the thought of children being abused and there's so much of it but it's hidden.

"A team of international investigators infiltrated an Internet chat room used by pedophiles who streamed live videos of children being raped, rescuing 31 children and identifying more than 700 suspects worldwide."

"``You could go and if you were in the club, arrange a time and a place when online you could view a child being raped and brutalized in real time,''

And the really sad thing is that the son of a bitch who led this criminal ring will "remain in prison until authorities decide he is no longer a threat to children."

What the hell does that mean?

People, love your children, take care of them and strike a balance between protecting them, making them aware and helping them achieve independence.

Not people like this Cornellian. These are vicious criminals.

I think some cases can be cured. Pedophilia can result from past experiences, the offenders might have been sexual abuse victims themselves and this is like a reverse reaction. If an offender recognises his mistakes and is remorse for what he/she has done, does time in jail, pays the price, gets psychiatric help, and can become an effiecent member of society, then I believe in second chances.

They will just go and do it again when released. Its a sick, sick mind that can do that to a child...of any age!!!

When I read this, The poet William Blake sprung to mind, because he has entire collection of poetry that talks about children's innocence and how it must not be abused or stripped away from them quickly because it will ruin their entire lives even after they grow up. He considered it as such a sin to interfere in a child's innocence as the below few lines from his poem "Auguries of Innocence" show:

He who mocks the Infant's Faith

Shall be mock'd in Age & Death.

He who shall teach the Child to Doubt

The rotting Grave shall ne'er get out.

If only shaking a child's innocent faith and mind deserves rotting in graves, then what does abusing them physically and emotionally for sexual pleasure deserve ???

people who go to jail and are know paedophile will get there commuppance there. Everyone hates paedo, they will be abused and beaten by the other inmate when they go to prison. Do you know every week a child in the uk dies from neglect ? That junkies and drug addicts have babies and sell them onto paedos to get money for there latest high- they let people do this to there children they all deserve to burn in hell and die a horrid death.

did anyone see that documnetry about the brothels in bombay on cnn - it was disgusting and heartbreaking - this kind of thing is so widespread now it makes me so angry and disgusted - how people can do this to children i have no idea - may they all rot in hell

Sounds like every now and then a story like that comes up. It is really horrible that these things are happening. I cannot imagine anything worse than abusing a child in any way, let alone for sexual pleasure.

I believe that castration, jail service AND having your identity in a public paedophile list available for any parent to see would be a good measure. These sickos shouldn´t be allowed to continue with their lives normally once they have served a short jail service. They should live with the consequences of their actions for the rest of their lives.

it is goes for anyone who abuses children in any way.

bob geldof has an eloquent chapter in his book on africa about child soldiers.... he comes over as a father whose love for his children and all children is powerful without comprise... as you do.

I must somehow lend you this book.

abusing children is more horrific than wrecking one life, it breaks the fabric of our society and blights the future irreperably

Yes, Oryx, you're right, they feel no remorse.

I can't believe how someone could prey and inflict pain on such vulnerable and helpless creatures.

They should be made to suffer. Chemical castration might be a safety measure but I think they should also suffer.

I saw a documentary on telly after a similar incident a few years back

what was horrifying is some of the perpetrators felt no remorse for their actions.

they believed what they did was good and right and that there should be no minimum age.

there is no place in any society for people who commit such crimes as far as i am concerned their actions render them totally unfit to participate and they forfit any right to do so.

By mere Castration for one person will not be enough,

I have seen some captured birds eyes are closed with a cover the reason is ,if they dont cover eyes of that bird it will harm anything come in front of it,like wise

Castrated people must be paraded in public with out any cover for the castrated area so that every one who see such people will be scared that if any one involved in naty acts will get the same punishment.

Other wise Such crimes will get continued as there are many perverts around.

castration is apparently being considred for such "sickos". Not strong enough for me, they should use a blunt, rusty knife.

I think it's worse now jauntie because technology provides these animals who prey on children with a feeling of security and strength in numbers.

The internet gives a feeling of anonymity and it's so hard to keep up.

at least the internet police are now up to date enough to find these people. I think they rescued about 31 kids (from memory)

strange world we live in ... was it ever any different?

sorry, bit maudlin here ... I just don't think the world is any different to when man was first created - it's just that NOW we all know what man/woman does to man/woman ( or children or womenmen ) faster than a stone age person would and certainly on a more global scale - because of our amazing communication technology. Bad news carries faster than good news.

Nothing has changed - there were always nasty people around.

Not enough to imprison such morons. They are sick!

And what is their assurance that this sick pedo is no longer a harmful threat to kids then?
