The Aryaas Experience

There is a new Indian restaurant in town.. the veggie restaurant... Aryaas...
For those of you who would like to go there I would like to share my experience.
When we reached there were lots of people waiting outside .. Wondered why ... when we to grab to open the door, a guy (never seen a smile on his face) came saying u have take a token, leave your no and we shall contact u in 10 to 15 minutes .. (what is this ?) They did not call us until we asked them about 20 minutes what is happening?

Anyway we had some to stuff to get the shop near by, so we utilised the time for that, then after waiting there for so long we went in ..
They didn’t have anything in menu .. and they expected us to eat what they have .. They made us change our menu already 2-3 times then comes back after 35 minutes saying can u please change this since we don;t have .. After that . we just left ..

If this is hospitality industry 's customer service.. Can’t imagine about the rest ...???

thanx buddies 4 all ur comments on the above. I agree and understand and have no prob with crowd control measures (the point I was making is the mechanical way they treat u at the door, which is not suitable 4 a hospitality industry). But the change in my order after so much time can't be easily digested.

One more thing, it's not the group who runs the show makes peanuts from this outlet or has lot of chains operating around the globe that matters, but the point was restaurants should be customer friendly and treat anyone with a smile when they enter their door.

There are other outlets which has the same crowd management problem but deal with u more politely and they don't play with your orders whatever the time may be.

It will be soon early to verdict that Aryaas is not worth visiting. Also do not be quickly provoked by any common events that you encounter during your first visit in the earlier days of any newly established outlet. I have heard of this Al Malki group of Companies who have established this restaurant who are doing business in Billions. They are not reliant on the outcome of this restaurant and as for me it would yield them peanuts. They should have started this a sign of community service to all of us.

I have worked in Dxb where there is chain of Indian restaurants and I can still remember the initial hiccups Saravana Bhavan was facing that time. But in later stage, all this mayhem was settled.

So let's wait for the best time Aryaas is going to give us rather than commenting anything bad.

I do not agree. If a restaurant lets a customer in and waiter takes an order, it has no right to ask the customer to change its order after some time. If some item of the menu is not available, it should be maked on the menu as not available so that customer should not order for that particular item.

In any case, I neither had nor have any intention of visiting this new restaurant.

The place is too small and the crowd outside looks like its the only eatery in Doha !!! If you are wondering how I know, I have to pass that road everyday and see the expectantly waiting crowd. Couple of days back I checked to see if I can get in, but it was full and the guy with the register book outside was very courteous. The food is one thing, but in general, people seem happy, bcoz a lot of them are waiting outside patiently. One happy guy who is making a small fortune is the guy who runs the play area for the kids right next to Aryaas !!!

This topic has been discussed at length in one of other threads.

Personally, I don't agree with it. If you don't like it, don't just go there. As for the crowd control, well I guess its better to keep you waiting outside rather than letting everyone inside and cause a mayhem there.

How else would you suggest to manage huge crowds turning up at the gates to eat at joint of such a small size?
