Spanish airports forced to close
Spain has closed four airports because of a shortage of air traffic controllers.
The Spanish airport operator Aena said it had to close the airspace after a number of staff did not turn up for work or refused to work normally.
Madrid's Barajas airport is one of those affected, as well as Palma, Ibiza and Menorca on the Balearic Islands.
Correspondents say the controllers have been involved in a long dispute with Aena over pay and conditions.
