All used to speed up in tht road , and saw light flashing many times in just 5 mins. So dont try to speed up in any roads cos donno where there are keeping the next one.

Interestingly, In the UK, where speed cameras are ABSOLUTELY an income stream for the Police and local authorities and have sod all to do with accident prevention, the local press (newspapers) on a weekly basis will advice locations of mobile speed cameras formallly - I think its a legal requirement.
True, Chairboy. However, I wonder why people (here on QL) encourage others to violate the speed limits and inform them when and where they have to obey. This is what I call "illegal advice".
Lets now move forward 9 months and read from the Gulf Times - "The lower court today awarded a Qatari National a 2 year jail sentence and a QR200,000 fine for careless and reckless driving which resulted in the death of an Indian national who was engaged in road works on C ring road in August 2009. The National is believed to be in the process of appealing the decision"
Now a further 3 months forward from that......and again from the Gulf Times....

The national had previously been awarded a 2 year jail sentance and a QR200,000 fine. The Court of Appeal suspended the 2 year sentence and reduced the fine to QR10,000. The Nationals insurance company was ordered to pay the blood money. In explaining its decision to reduce the sentence, the Court of Appeal said that in reaching its decison, it hasd taken into consideration the defendants age and circumstance"

DOHA: A man from the southern Indian state Kerala died on the spot on Thursday when a speeding card hit him. Yousaf (34) from Kozhikode in Kerala, was working as a heavy vehicle driver in the general cleaning project of the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning.
At 5pm on Thursday he was loading a small shovel in a recovery vehicle on Salwa road, when a Qatari national driving a Lexus hit him. His back was towards the vehicle so he could not see it.
So strong was the impact that he was thrown some 50 meters away and one of his legs was cut out of the body and he died on the spot.
Another driver Binu (30) who was helping him nearby was injured and rushed to Hamad Hospital. Yusuf was married and has a five-year-old child."
himu, to drive faster than allowed, and slow down only when a camera is placed. That's not only against the traffic laws it's also stupid. Lots of stupid drivers on QL.

...yeah, I can concur with this - my wife has told me on many occasions that she has witnessed much flashing in the area around the Gulf Cinema ..................
donno whether it was ther on not yesterday . I stood there for a while and saw many flashing . It's planted near a palm tree and very hard to identify while on move .
Oh...yesterday evening I just sped through this patch after being stuck for about half an hour between Al Sadd signal to Ramada signal to catch up with an appointment...... I dont know if I got caught by the radar...

There is no fixed Radar on this stretch....
If there is one where is it placed...ie opposite which building? (as the whole stretch is lined with palm trees).
